Parker's Cove

From the The Weekly Monitor and Western Annapolis Sentinel
Vol. 42 No. 42

Jan. 18th

Mr. Isaiah Robinson an aged resident of Granville Ferry has come to stay the rest of his days with his brother, Mr. Daniel Robinson.

A bean social was held at the home of Mr. David Young on Jan. the 14th for the relief of the Belgians. A very pleasant evening was spent. The sum of $17.30 was realized to be forwarded to the Belgians. We hope the day is not far off when the dreadful enemy will be outwitted and peace and harmony will reign once more over our lands.

The silent messenger of death entered our community on the 17th and called to rest Mrs. James Oliver at the advanced age of 76 years. She had been an invalid for six years, although the end came quite suddenly. She is survived by her husband and five children. The children are Mrs. Ernest McCormick and Mrs. William Hudson of the United States; Mrs. Rupert Gilliatt of Granville; Aaron and Orbin of Parker’s Cove.
