Silas Lantz is the guest of his cousin, Charles Harris.

A snowfall this Monday morning gives fairly good sleighing.

Very rough weather has prevailed on Clements Shore the past week.

Mrs. H. Nichols of Bridgetown is visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Nichols.

Miss Vera Ditmars has returned from a few weeks’ visit in Clementsvale.

R.V. Ditmars of the Seaview House lately harvested a fine crop of ice.

Good shipments of apples, hay and clams are being made from this community.

Friends of J. Troop McClelland will regret to hear that he is laid aside with a broken leg.

Harry Nichols who is doing garrison duty in Halifax is enjoying a six days’ furlough at his home here.

Joseph Berry has purchased from Loran Adams the promising colt “Bruce” and is breaking him to harness.

We are glad to report the family of Frank Ruggles, who have been stricken with la grippe, somewhat improved.

The meeting of the Plus Ultra S.S. Class on Thursday evening the 14th inst. took the form of a New Year’s party at the home of the teacher, Mrs. [D.?].E. Sherman. Invitations from the members of the class to parents and friends resulted in a gathering of about twenty persons and a delightful social evening is reported. The class met last Thursday evening with Miss Katherine Weir.

Well attended meetings of the Dorcas Society at the homes of Mrs. W. Purdy and Mrs. J.D. Spurr, Jan. 12th and 13th resulted in a splendid contribution of clothing to the Belgian Relief forwarded on the 14th. Last Thursday, the 21st, the Society sent the following Red Sross articles: 19 pairs of socks; 13 pairs of mitts and 6 scarfs. The meeting this Wednesday evening will be of a social nature and held in Union Hall.
