Mr. Joseph Withers, of Granville Feery was in the village here one day last week and remained over night.

Mrs. Walter Elliott, who has been making a visit in Boston during the past few weeks returned home recently.

Our village was visited last week by a goodly number of commercial men taking orders for their different lines of goods.

Our station agent, Mr. Goodwin, is at present taking his vacation, his place being filled by Mr. George Gabriel, of Halifax.

Miss Jennie Vroom who has been staying at Granville Ferry for some time, is at present at her home here spending a few weeks.

Mrs. John Lowe and Mrs. Albert Mussells who were visiting in Weymouth, recently, have returned to their respective homes.

We are glad to hear that Mrs. C. LeCain is around again as usual after being confined to the house from the effects of a bad cold.

Captain Robert C. Rawding who has spent some months at his home here, left for Boston on Saturday last to join his vessel which is loading at this city.

We are sorry to state that Mrs. Leslie Gibbons has been on the sick list for some time, and continues quite ill, but we hope to see here around again soon.

A pie social was held in the Baptist Hall here on Tuesday night of last week for the aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. We have not learned the amount obtained but presume it was a fair sum.

Mr. Forbes Tupper, proprietor of our hotel here, left for Halifax on Saturday last to see his brother, Lieutenant Tupper, who sails for England soon with the regiment with which he is connected.

Clements District Sunday School Convention meets at Deep Brook on February 22nd. All Sunday School workers are cordially invited to attend. Don’t miss the date. The County Secretary, Mrs. Saunders will be present to give an address.

We are very glad indeed to see Mrs. Chas. Ritchie at her post again in the post office here, well and smart, after being laid up for a time with a very bad cold. Her place was filled by Mrs. Roy Merritt during her absence as an assistant with Mr. Ritchie.
