Mrs. A. Taylor is spending a few days at Bridgetown with her brother, Mr. Leander Whitman.
Mrs. H. Chester Beals, of Bear River has recently visited Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Beals.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon D. Feals returned from Springfield where they have been visiting at her home.
Rev. Mr. Mellick preached a very acceptable sermon on Sunday the 24th. Subject: “The loom of life.”
The mud of last week made the roads almost impassible. Our mailman, Mr. Stoddart had to travel on foot, Wednesday.
Mr. Sanford assisted by Mr. Bishop of Lawrencetown gave a gramaphone entertainment on Saturday evening. The selections were good. Proceeds went to the Belgian Fund.
Mr. Allister A. Taylor lost his house by fire on Thursday night. They have the sympathy of their many friends at this time. It was a large, convenient and well built house and would cost a good sum to build today with materials at such high prices. It is a great loss to Mr. Taylor at this time of life. Part of their furniture was saved. About a year ago Mr. Taylor had a bathroom fitted up and the telephone put in.
