Rev. J.D. and Mrs. McLeod welcomed a son on the 11th inst.

Dr. Sims, V.S., attended the Veterinary Association in Truro last week.

Dr. Sims was called to Deep Brook on Professional business on Monday.

Miss Mabel Troop, of Granville Centre, is visiting her sister Mrs. L.H. Balcom.

The Literary Club will meet on Monday evening, Jan. 25th, at the home of Mrs. S.K. Morse.

Mrs. Florence Fitz, of Winthrop, Mass., is visiting at the home of her mother, Mrs. W.H. Bishop.

Mrs. R. Bent and daughter of Tupperville have been guests at the home of Rev. A.M. and Mrs. McNintch.

A parlor entertainment was held on Tuesday evening, Jan. 14th at “Ellenhurst” the home of Mrs. W.T. James. The proceeds amounting to ten dollars were for the Red Cross Society.

“Regina” Division is reorganizing and asks a good attendance on Friday evening. The Temperance problem is a serious one to grapple and is worthy of the support of every right minded citizen and the work can most effectually be done through a temperance organization.

Mr. P.F. Lawson of Berwick, who accompanied the first Relief Ship the S.S. “Tremorvah” from Nova Scotia to Belgium will give an address in the Baptist Church on Tuesday evening, January 26. An admission fee will be charged and the proceeds will be for the Belgian Relief Fund.
